Abstract: 

Nowadays, with the expansion of semantic web services, the need of search engines for conceptual networks and domain ontology to infer semantically from user queries and to retrieve optimal (accurate and relevant) INFORMATION has also increasedThe present study is an applied research aiming to analyze the conceptual network of “INFORMATION security”, which its domain structure was discovered using a mixed method of co-word and social networks analysis. The statistical society included 10227 scientific documents (books and international journal and conference papers) which was searched on Scopus and Web of Science citation databases from 2013 to 2017. After preprocessing keywords and tags by Zotero, an extension of the Firefox web-browser, Excel was used to match 8 prominent INFORMATION security glossaries. Gephi and VOSviewer were used to visualize and analyze the conceptual network. By analyzing 19648 keywords and tags, a total of 207 keywords were extracted from the last edition of the INFORMATION security glossary. The results showed that this network includes 14 clusters, of which 5 are mature, 7 are half-mature, and 2 are immature, and it was sufficiently coherent and dense. The most important concepts of this network with the highest betweenness centrality are “Security”, “INFORMATION Security”, “INFORMATION Systems”, “Privacy”, “INFORMATION” “Telecommunication, “Encryption” and “Cryptography”, “Authentication”, “Cyber security”, “Network”, “Cloud Computing”, “Security Attacks”, “Access Control”, “Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)”, “Security Protocols”, “Risk”, “Risk Management and its Frameworks”, and “Service Level Agreement (SLA)”. These concepts are directly inter-related and connected.

Abstract: 

Nowadays, bibliometrics has been an interdisciplinary field with all scientific fields as its scope. The present study is related to the scientometric study of articles in INFORMATION retrieval produced in Iran from the beginning of the topic in Persian papers to 2019. This research was an applied research which has been done using scientometric techniques such as citation analysis and co-word analysis. The data required for this research have been extracted from the "Islamic World Science Citation" database. The statistical population was 395 articles in the field of INFORMATION retrieval, which was analyzed using "BibExcel," "VOSviewer," and " Excel" software packages. Some inconsistencies in author names and keywords have been tried to be unified. There was an increasing trend in published papers and received citations. Highly-cited and most influential authors in the field are well-known in the field. "Rahmatullah Fattahi" is in the first place with 11 articles and 16 citations. 77.72% of the articles have been authored in groups (two or more authors) and the two-authored approach with 154 articles has the most co-authorship approach. Six hundred twenty-six authors participated in writing the articles, which were repeated 923 times in various articles. The largest co-authorship network consists of 27 nodes (authors). "Najla Hariry," "Farideh Osareh," and "Saeed Rezaei Sharifabadi" have the highest score in terms of the centrality of rank, intermediate, and closeness among other researchers, respectively. The keywords "INFORMATION retrieval," "search engines" and "internet" were the most frequently used keywords in the field of INFORMATION retrieval. The word pairs of "recall - retrieval accuracy" and "Internet - search engines" were the first and second most frequent pairs of co-occurring-word pairs, respectively. Thematic clustering of articles in this field indicates the existence of eight subject clusters: "search, processing and evaluation INFORMATION," "Storage and retrieval in INFORMATION systems," "INFORMATION behavior," "indexing," "INFORMATION management and Scientometrics," "search engines," "precision and recall" and "INFORMATION literacy." Co-authorship network showed that authors in the field tended to author with collaborating each other. Considerable items on INFORMATION retrival have been published in Persian The acceptance of the co-authorship approach in the production of scientific works in INFORMATION retrieval indicates the willingness of authors to write co-authored research. However, considering that 54.9% of the authors of this study did not receive the H index, the authors should make more efforts to produce quality articles. The largest cluster of this research is the "search, processing and evaluation INFORMATION" cluster, which indicates the importance of this issue in INFORMATION retrieval, and the smallest cluster is the "INFORMATION literacy" cluster, which needs further research in this research field. The study helps authors identify hot topics and highly-considered subjects in INFORMATION retrieval and provide a pattern for conducting scientometric analyses in similar fields.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to study the components of the INFORMATION analysis in INFORMATION retrieval systems. Methodology: The current study has been done using systematic review and qualitative content analysis. The statistical population includes research articles in the field of INFORMATION analysis in INFORMATION retrieval systems, which have been found by search strategies from the beginning to 2019 in the scientific databases (Scopus, Science Direct, Pubmed, and IEEE). PRISMA Statement was used for sampling. First 2048 articles were identified and then after four steps (Identification, Screening, Eligibility, and Inclusion), 83 articles were selected for final analysis. Findings: For answering the research question about what is effective components of INFORMATION analysis in INFORMATION retrieval systems, there are five basic categories was obtained Analytics (“ Benchmarking” , “ Collaboration and Scientometrics” , “ Text analysis” ), Description (“ Analyzed fields” , “ Representation levels” , “ Presentation” ), Human-computer interaction (“ Navigation” , “ Searching” , “ Filtering” , “ Sorting” , “ user-system dialog” , “ Links” , “ Personalization” ), INFORMATION management (“ System management” , “ User management” , “ Helps” ) and INFORMATION analysis results (“ Exploration” , “ Psychological aspects” ). Conclustion: The obtained categorization in current research can be noticed for INFORMATION retrieval systems design more analytically and evaluate them.

Abstract: 

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the components of INFORMATION VISUALIZATION related to user experience in the digital library of Allameh Tabatabai University. Method: The research method is thinking aloud protocol and with a qualitative approach. The study population was undergraduate, graduate and PhD students(30 people) who were purposefully selected as a sample population. Data collection was performed using Morae software, face-to-face observation, researcher's notebook and users' audio files. Findings: show that elements such as fonts, color combinations, graphic images and their placement and arrangement in library website pages have been of interest to users. Problems include not knowing how to search at an advanced level, as well as the use of some image icons. Based on the given evidence, elements such as fonts, color combinations, graphic images, and their placement on page have been important to users. Users considered the suggestion of using animated visual symbols necessary in order to make the appearance attractive and facilitate users' INFORMATION-seeking behavior, which to a large extent overlaps with the principles and basis of INFORMATION VISUALIZATION. In this way, the use of eye-catching tools such as blinking characters, in turn, can play a key role in identifying important parts. Conclusion: Using fewer visual elements on the front page to increase the focus on the front page, using navigation features on the search page, and displaying a sequence of retrieved records on the page of findings were some of the common points that users mentioned.

Abstract: 

Purpose: To identify the patterns and trends of the Iranian LIS Studies and the changes made in the Intellectual structure of this field. Methodology: Using the keyword co-occurrence method and the knowledge Domain VISUALIZATION approach, the intellectual structure of LIS has been studied. The research community is all research papers and articles of conferences that have been published by Iranian researchers in the period from 1970 to 2016 in the LIS journals and indexed on the WOS. Citespace software was used to map and analyze the network of Iranian studies. Findings: Cluster analysis led to the identification of 10 clusters. Overall, it was found that the main focal points of the research are two general titles of "science studies" and "INFORMATION studies", where the share of each of these two research centers from all identified clusters was 4, 5 Cluster. The largest cluster, according to the number of nodes, was "User Studies and Systems" and the oldest cluster based on the average year of formation, "scientific collaboration. " The results of the analysis of the keywords burstness, "Internet", "World Wide Web", "User studies" and "Search engines" respectively, have attracted the most attention of the researchers of INFORMATION science and science and are among the hot topics in the time series investigated. Conclusion: The network of the key words of Iran LIS studies is immature; so that from the total of 257 nodes present in the analysis process, 71 nodes were located between 2000 and 2009. One of the important points in reflecting on the analysis of the central nodes of the keyword network is related to the low centrality scores of the word “ library” in spite of having high occurrence frequency; which may be interpreted as the reduction of pivotal role of this concept in the LIS literature.

Abstract: 

INFORMATION VISUALIZATION is a computer-assisted method for data representation. By processing the INFORMATION into a visual framework, it enables the user to observe, browse, receive and understand INFORMATION. INFORMATION VISUALIZATION is a new research field that concentrates on using visualizing techniques towards helping people understand and analyze data. The fundamentals of VISUALIZATION include GUI design, Computer Graphics, HCI, cognitive theories and graphic design. Based on Schneiderman’s classification, INFORMATION VISUALIZATION includes one, two, three ad multidimensional as well as time-based, hierarchical and network data.

Abstract: 

INFORMATION VISUALIZATION is an ongoing research field for exploring and delivering new insight on large amount of data in INFORMATION Retrieval (IR) community. The current study aimed to map and visualize the INFORMATION of dissertations by considering the important role of dissertations in academic libraries. To achieve this aim a subject– title portrait was designed for presenting the interactive graphic view of dissertations’ subjects in libraries. The IR-system was designed by INFORMATION VISUALIZATION toolkits that presented the related subjects of dissertations in the library. In addition a standard questionnaire (QUIS Questionnaire) was administered among users for measuring their satisfaction levels. The designed IR system provided a user-friendly environment through displaying subjective relations of dissertations, overwhelming variety of colors in displaying INFORMATION. Fast and easy access to cover-to-cover INFORMATION of dissertations and user-interaction facilities were the advantages of designed IR. Analysis of data indicated that the user satisfaction from altered features was evaluated from medium to high. Satisfaction from software features showed the highest rate (69. 3%± 0. 47%). Designing IR-system revealed an excessive influence on users’ satisfaction. Therefore, such systems for employing in academic libraries are very suitable and its implementation is necessary.
